The bakery is family-owned and operated, known for cookies made daily from scratch. Absolutely nothing stays overnight, and every cookie has a unique base made in-house. Lattes are also popular, with all mixes prepared completely in-house. The story begins with Sara, the head baker and CEO, who started baking at age nine. She progressed from break-and-bake cookies to creating her own homemade recipe by age eleven. Her brothers served as her toughest critics, providing feedback that she used to perfect her recipes.
In 2018, the family decided to sell their cookies on weekends. The positive response grew quickly, leading to outgrowing their home kitchen. In 2019, they quit their jobs to start the company full-time. After nearly a year of setup, Treat You Batter opened in Detroit on March 7, 2020. The business emphasizes its family roots and community support, having grown from a home kitchen to a dedicated bakery location.
The business is recognized for its positive rating from the customers who have reviewed it. This high rating reflects the quality of its fresh-baked cookies and handcrafted drinks. The bakery’s reputation is built on its commitment to making products from scratch daily, ensuring freshness and unique flavors. Its growth from a weekend venture to a full-time business demonstrates its appeal to the Detroit community.
Treat You Batter combines its family-owned heritage with a dedication to fresh, scratch-made cookies and handcrafted lattes, making it a standout bakery in Detroit.
