The community is co-owned and operated by the Litz family. Nanya Litz, RN, LNHA, serves as administrator; Vic Litz is director of operations and facility services; Trey Litz is director of community relations; and Amanda Harvey, BSN, RN, is wellness nurse director.

The community follows an "Aging by Choice" philosophy, which allows residents and their families to choose the options that suit them. Its stated mission centers on promoting independence, engaging residents in a stimulating environment, and building trusting relationships, with medical care personalized to each resident's needs. Life enrichment activities are designed to nurture the mind, body, and spirit. Hillside Terrace sits on 10 acres of orchards and gardens with walking paths and an enclosed courtyard. The property was originally built in 1968, began family ownership in 2006, and underwent extensive renovations in 2013 that retained elements of its original charm. The community also supports the Alzheimer's Association.

The community is located at 1939 Jackson Ave, about a tenth of a mile from Jackson Avenue and two tenths of a mile from Dexter Avenue. Several parks sit within roughly half a mile, including Winewood Thaler Park, Maryfield Wildwood Park, Fair Glen Commons Private Park, and Veterans Memorial Pool.
