Matt Stover is a true Mainer with family roots in the state dating back to the mid-1600s. Born and raised in Portland, he attended local schools and has remained in the area throughout his life. He began his career in the pest control industry in 1981, working for two of the largest pest control companies before establishing Ants Etc. in 1998. Stover operates the business as an individual owner, emphasizing personalized attention and long-term client relationships over the impersonal service often found in large corporations. He is committed to completing jobs correctly, regardless of the time required. Outside of work, Stover is an avid guitar player with 40 years of experience and a ham radio operator for 15 years. He lives in Windham with his wife of 36 years, Debbie, and their four children and ten grandchildren.

The company addresses a wide range of pest issues, including rats, carpenter ants, red pavement ants, bees, fleas, and bed bugs. Stover notes that professional treatment is often more effective than store-bought sprays and traps. Licensed specialists use heavy-duty chemicals, including insect growth regulators (IGRs), which target insect growth hormones to prevent maturation and reproduction. This approach is particularly important for pests like bed bugs and fleas, where temporary tactics often fail. The business serves the Southern Maine region, including Windham, Portland, Bridgton, Cumberland, South Portland, Scarborough, Westbrook, and Buxton. Customers can reach the Windham office at (207) 892-7855 or the Portland office at (207) 774-2225.

With a perfect 5.00 rating from its customers, Ants Etc. Pest Service has established a reputation for reliability and thoroughness in Gorham and the surrounding communities. The combination of Stover’s decades of industry experience and his focus on personalized care distinguishes the business in the local pest control market.
