Founded in 1965 by Dr. William Huffard, known in the community as Doc, the hospital originally opened in a 4,500 square foot brick building and still occupies that same site today. Dr. Bruce Goldman took over the practice upon Doc's retirement in 1991 and spent decades developing the hospital and mentoring new veterinarians and support staff. The current team includes Managing DVM Dr. Shanna Plitt, veterinarians Dr. Adrienne Greenwood, Dr. Logan Grant, and Dr. Cristians Rivas Morales, and Hospital Manager Robin Price. After more than 50 years in continuous operation, the hospital continues to combine modern medical capability with the family-oriented values established by its founders.

The hospital sits on Ritchie Highway, just steps from the intersection with Jumpers Hole Road and roughly a quarter mile from Paul T. Pitcher Memorial Highway. Patient First Primary and Urgent Care and Righttime Medical Care are both within a short walk along Ritchie Highway.

With over five decades serving Anne Arundel County and a 4.60 rating from its reviewers, Huffard Animal Hospital stands as one of the longest continuously operating veterinary practices in the Pasadena area.
