The business traces its roots to the early 1990s, when the founder began working in the dry cleaning industry and chose to focus on retail establishments. After owning J. Stewart Cleaners for thirteen years and later opening Our Town Cleaners in 2003, he launched a pick-up and delivery service alongside his stores. In 2004, he decided to dedicate his full attention to pick-up and delivery, and Cleaners To You grew from that decision into a free pick-up and delivery operation. A related retail concept, Cleaners To You Drop Spot, operates 24 hours a day for drop-offs and pick-ups.

The office sits on Travilah Road in North Potomac, about a third of a mile from Glen Road and roughly a third of a mile from Greenbriar Local Park. Sandy Branch runs nearby, less than three-quarters of a mile away.

The business holds a rating of 4.80 from the customers who have reviewed it, reflecting the standing it has built across the Maryland and Virginia service area.
