The studio designs with the end user in mind, beginning each project by clarifying goals and objectives before gathering research on how people use and interact with the spaces they inhabit. In workplace settings, this means designing to maximize employee morale and motivation; in healthcare facilities, the aim is to craft spaces that promote the health and wellbeing of patients. The studio is led by founder and principal Fan Chang, RA, NCARB, who brings more than 27 years of experience as a practicing design architect with national and international projects for clients including China Trust, LaSalle University, the Veterans Administration, and the US General Services Administration. Chang holds a Master of Architecture from Syracuse University and studied with the university's program in Florence, Italy. Partner and senior technical architect Matt Simpson also works with clients through the design process. The firm is certified as a US Small Business Administration Woman Owned Small Business and as an MBE, DBE, SBE, and SBR through the Maryland Department of Transportation.
