Crofton Nursery School Inc was established in 1967 and incorporated in 1968 by a group of parents who wanted a strong preschool experience for their children. That cooperative spirit has been carried forward by each participating family since. Member parents contribute directly to daily classroom life and also serve on committees covering Curriculum, Fundraising, Health and Safety, Hospitality, Housekeeping, Marketing, Participation, and the Board. The school's purpose is twofold: to develop self-reliance in the child and ease the move between home and school, and to encourage cooperative learning through parent participation and parent education meetings.

The classroom is divided into a Circle Room, a designated Play Room, and an Instruction Area with signage designed for young learners. A typical day includes music and movement, story time, playroom time, and individualized instruction in small groups, with the wider curriculum incorporating art projects, science projects, fine and gross motor skill work, singing and dancing, reading, and free play. Students also take part in school traditions such as the Pumpkin Patch field trip, Frosty's Table, the Holiday Shop, a school-wide Holiday Party, a 4s field trip to Pirate Adventures, and a 4s Graduation Ceremony. Crofton Nursery School Inc is located at 1110 St Stephens Church Rd. The school is led by Director and 3s and 4s Teacher Tamika Beavers, an early childhood educator with over fifteen years of experience who earned an Associate's in Early Childhood Education from Wor-Wic Community College in 2012, and is supported by Teacher's Assistant Shannon Abdelghani, who brings more than 1,500 hours of classroom experience.
