Dr. Keri's approach to care grew out of her own experience as a Division 1 cross country and track athlete at UMBC. She found that her inability to reach her athletic potential was mental rather than physical, and that the more emotional pressure she put on herself, the more her body broke down, with her asthma worsening and plantar fasciitis developing. Athletic trainers addressed her physical pain, but she found little support for the mental and emotional block to competing, which led her to pursue a system of medicine that treats the connection between physical and mental or emotional symptoms.

She practices as a primary care provider operating under an Eastern, holistic philosophy, and describes an acupuncturist's office as a reasonable first stop for a patient with almost any health concern. Her stated goal is to de-mystify Chinese medicine, treat each patient as unique, and find and treat the root cause of symptoms rather than only their surface presentation. She notes a connection between acupuncture and the nervous system.

The practice sits on Frederick Road. It holds a 5.00 rating from the customers who have reviewed it, reflecting the reputation Dr. Keri has built in Carney as a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist who treats both physical and emotional symptoms together.
