Level Dance Project

Level Dance Project is a dance studio in Annapolis, Maryland, located at 1572 Whitehall Road in the Jemal's Bay 50 Shopping Center. The studio offers recreational and competitive classes for ages three through eighteen in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, pointe, and tumbling, and also welcomes adult students. Private lessons are available with many of the faculty, new students can schedule a free trial class, and the schedule runs from late August through an annual June recital. The studio holds a rating of 5.00 based on customer reviews.

The studio has been owned since its 2012 founding by a mother-daughter team: Barbara Martin as Business Manager and Emily Martin as Artistic Director. Instructors and choreographers have built a reputation that draws interest from across the country, and former students have moved on to collegiate and professional dance careers. The faculty maintains a studio culture that is upbeat and productive, producing well-rounded technicians and artists while maintaining a zero-tolerance policy on bullying of any kind. The competitive company is award-winning and focused on advancing dancers toward a pre-professional or professional level, with membership by audition or invitation. In addition to the main company, the studio offers a secondary tier called Troupe for dancers who want to compete at a lighter commitment level, with weekly requirements ranging from roughly four to twelve or more hours depending on age. Beyond its regular season, the studio runs summer camps and a summer intensive, along with occasional master classes.

The studio sits on Whitehall Road, about a tenth of a mile from the Blue Star Memorial Highway and roughly half a mile from Bay Head Park and the Bay Head Park Riggs Property. East College Parkway runs about a third of a mile away.

The studio's perfect rating from its customers reflects more than a decade of instruction in the Annapolis area, where it continues to train dancers across a wide range of styles and levels.
