Faber Rug Company was founded in 1954 by Thomas W. Faber, who opened his initial shops on Route 9 and Grove Street before relocating to 19 Central Street in Wellesley Center. Now in its third generation of family ownership, the business operates across two floors with more than 35,000 square feet of inventory and thousands of samples available to view and take home. The selection spans broadloom carpet, handcrafted area rugs from Pakistan, India, and Nepal, custom-made wool pieces, eco-conscious and non-allergenic options, and inexpensive synthetics, with prices catering to every budget. Their sales team includes Donna Spellman-Faber, Mike Dalton, Ryan Faber, Nancy Faber, Kyle Faber, and Jampa Tenzing. Mike Dalton is a former installer who now advises on installation questions, while Ryan and Kyle Faber both hold business degrees from Bryant University and Worcester State University, respectively, and Nancy Faber, a retired public school teacher with a master's degree from Worcester State University, brings over twenty years of design experience to the team. The business accommodates night and weekend installations for commercial clients and maintains a remnant room with regularly changing deals.

The showroom sits on Central Street in Wellesley Center, roughly a tenth of a mile from Wellesley Square station, the Wellesley Post Office, and both Post Office Square and Central Park, with Washington Street about two-tenths of a mile away.
