Grove Street Tavern

The two childhood friends opened the tavern in the spring of 2017 after eight months of construction that stripped the building to the studs, adding new insulation, electrical work and gutted bathrooms, with much of the renovation done by Martin himself. The menu features 19 different styles of pizza made with fresh dough prepared daily, along with beef burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, kale soup, clam chowder, chili, stuffed quahogs and fish and chips. The tavern also offers live acoustic music and televisions for watching major sporting events. It is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11:30am to 10:00pm, Friday and Saturday from 11:30am to 11:00pm, and Sunday from 12:00pm to 9:00pm, and is closed on Mondays.

The location at 53 Grove Street has housed successful bars for nearly 70 years, beginning in the 1950s as the King Philip Cafe and continuing since 1992 as The Billy Club. The building also contains three apartment units above the tavern.
