About Mineral Hills Winery at Godard's Red Hen Farm, LLC

Mineral Hills Winery at Godard's Red Hen Farm, LLC is a winery in North Adams, MA. The business produces and sells grape, fruit, and honey wines, offering options ranging from dry to sweet. It serves customers through tastings, retail locations in the Springfield and Northampton areas, and shipping to over 30 states. The winery is located at 592 Sylvester Rd.

The family-owned farm and winery was established in 2010 by owners Larry and Sue Godard. Larry has been making wine since the 1990s, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Antonio Pepe. The operation sits on Godard’s Red Hen Farm, a fourth-generation family farm that began growing apples and keeping bee hives in 1984. The farm has since expanded to include blueberries, grapes, and an apiary, providing ingredients for its wines. The winery produces over 1,400 cases a year, growing from an initial 50 cases and a few varieties. It offers approximately 15 different wines, including dry full-bodied red and white grape wines, softer reds and whites, and fruit wines. Fruit wines include Apple Wine, Ice Apple Wine, and Blueberry Wine, made from farm and local sources. Mead is produced from honey from Sue’s apiary. In season, the store sells apples, sweet apple cider, blueberries, honey, hand creams, and lip balms.

The farm maintains traditional winemaking techniques and sustainable farming practices. The business operates on a schedule of Monday through Thursday from 12pm to 5pm, Friday and Saturday from 12pm to 6pm, and Sunday from 12pm to 5pm. Seasonal closures include Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, July 4th, August 17-20, and Thanksgiving Day. On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, the winery is open from 12pm to 3pm for bottle sales only.

Mineral Hills Winery at Godard's Red Hen Farm, LLC combines a long history of fourth-generation farming with dedicated winemaking to provide a diverse selection of handcrafted wines and seasonal farm products in North Adams.
