The name "Mimados" means "pampered" in Portuguese, and the business was founded by Hiago Loiola, who has been professionally grooming pets for over 13 years. His journey began in 2012 when he was 15 years old, encouraged by his mother, a dedicated entrepreneur who inspired his love and respect for animals. After moving to the United States in 2021 and his mother's passing in 2022, Loiola opened the first Mimados location one year later to honor her legacy. The salon provides a cage-free environment designed to help pets feel comfortable, relaxed, and at home, tailoring care to each pet's individual personality and needs, whether they enjoy socializing and playing or require a quieter, private space.

The Newton location sits on Walnut Street, just off Centre Street, about 0.2 miles from the Newton Highlands Post Office and Boylston Street, and within walking distance of the Newton Highlands Playground and Hyde Playground.

Mimados Pet Grooming - Newton holds a 4.90 rating based on customer reviews, reflecting a positive reputation among the clients who have visited the salon.
