Needham Driving School

Needham Driving School is a driving school in Needham, MA, serving students in Needham, Wellesley, Dover, Natick, Weston, Dedham and Westwood. It offers teen enrollment and adult enrollment, classroom training, behind-the-wheel instruction, and road test sponsorship, along with hourly driving lessons. Instruction is available seven days a week, with door-to-door pickup for behind-the-wheel lessons in those same towns. The school holds a rating of 4.60 from customer reviews.

The school is a third-generation driving school whose instructors bring more than 40 years of combined experience in driver education, and it has trained over 25,000 drivers. It is licensed by the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles. Courses include accelerated or intensive programs that cover the required 30 hours of classroom training in a single week, held from 8:45 AM to 3 PM during summer, public and private school vacations. Weekend and weeknight courses run year round, with each session covering the required 15 two-hour modules in order, and make-up classes are available. Parent classes answer parents' questions, cover the classroom curriculum, list the driving skills needed to pass a road test, and give parents information to help them teach their children to drive. Behind-the-wheel instruction is taught through verbal instruction, observation and demonstration, and the school works with students preparing for a Junior Operator's license as well as nervous or apprehensive drivers. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.

The school sits on Highland Avenue in Needham Heights, a short walk from Needham Heights Common, the Needham Heights train station and the Needham Heights Post Office, and close to Center at the Heights. CareWell Urgent Care is nearby on the same stretch of road.

That combination of a state-licensed curriculum, decades of family-run instruction and pickup across Needham and its neighboring towns is what the school's rating reflects.
