Asa Waters Mansion of Millbury is a wedding venue in Millbury, MA, located at 123 Elm St. It holds a rating of 4.70 based on customer reviews. The venue hosts weddings, parties, and corporate events and is open by appointment only.
The mansion was built starting in 1824 by Asa Waters II and his wife Susan. Construction took two years to complete using materials sourced from across the region and abroad. Hard pine came from the southern United States, marble from Italy, mahogany from Central America, bricks from Baltimore, and pumpkin pine from Maine. These materials were transported by horse and wagon from Boston ports, as the Blackstone Canal and railroad had not yet facilitated transport to Central Massachusetts. Asa Waters II was born in 1769 in what later became Millbury. He learned gunsmithing from his father, Asa Waters I, and in 1808 opened the Waters & Co. Armory with his brother Elijah along the Blackstone River. After Elijah’s death in 1814, Asa Waters II continued the business and patented several gun manufacturing inventions.
The mansion is managed by Executive Director Traci Parath.
The venue sits on Elm Street, just a short distance from the Millbury Fire Department and the Millbury Public Library.
