The company began with the goal of accommodating busy lifestyles by providing care for pets, with staff carefully chosen for their attentiveness, dependability, professionalism, and affection for animals. The business is bonded, licensed, and fully insured, and its current owners, Erin and James McCarthy, bring a lifelong background with animals, including Erin's history in marine animal training. The doggie daycare features 6,000 square feet of climate-controlled indoor space with anti-fatigue flooring, multiple play areas, and year-round access to a secure outdoor space. Dogs are grouped by temperament, disposition, and energy level rather than size, and are supervised throughout the day. The business's signature door-to-door valet service picks up dogs between 8:30 and 10:30 AM and drops them off between 2:30 and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Puppy playcare is offered on Saturdays as part of the Pawsitive Puppy Program, giving younger dogs age-appropriate socialization. Pawsitively Marblehead, the retail side, operates Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM and on weekends from 11 AM to 3 PM.

The shop sits at 52 Atlantic Avenue, a short distance from Atlantic Avenue itself and within a few blocks of Washington Street, Pleasant Street, and School Street. Memorial Park and the Marblehead Police Department are both roughly a third of a mile away.

With more than two decades of continuous service under family ownership and a strong customer rating, Creature Comforts and Pawsitively Marblehead is a long-standing fixture for pet care in Marblehead.
