Sholan Farms is a 169-acre farm owned by the City of Leominster and operated by the Friends of Sholan Farms, a community-supported non-profit organization managed by dedicated members and volunteers. The Friends operate independently from the City and do not receive City funding, relying instead on sales of apples, raspberries, and blueberries, as well as festivals, tours, sponsors, and private donations. The City purchased the property in 2001 when it consisted of 60 acres of agricultural land farmed entirely as an apple orchard. Recognizing that the scale exceeded their capabilities, the Friends adopted a plan to maintain 20 acres of apple orchard while re-harvesting the remaining 40 acres to new crops. Since 2001, they have reclaimed an additional 6 acres of apple orchard, planted 1.5 acres of blueberries and 0.5 acres of raspberries, and added 15 new varieties of apples to the orchard.

The organization offers tours, supports wildlife education, and engages in farm expansion projects, including efforts to build a new barn to protect equipment and provide indoor space for volunteers. The farm also provides community gardens and activities such as bird watching and wildlife photography. The Friends of Sholan Farms mission is to be a family-oriented, recreational, and educational farm making full use of natural resources with an integrated ecosystem that is practical and environmentally friendly.

Sholan Farms brings its community-owned orchard and educational mission to Leominster, offering a unique agricultural experience rooted in local stewardship.

The farm sits on Pleasant Street in Leominster, MA, just over a tenth of a mile from Bee Hill and Heywood Reservoir.
