The business is owned and operated by Carin Cohen, who began caring for animals by watching a neighbor's dog in high school while volunteering at the North Shore Animal League in New York. She later learned to train dogs for the show ring and basic family obedience in 1988, then attended college in Massachusetts where she majored in Animal Care, completing coursework in kennel management, pet nutrition, grooming, basic first aid, and animal health and structure. Over the following years she managed a large warehouse-style pet supply store, ran a small country pet supply and grooming shop, and worked full time in dog training for five years before founding Critter Visits. She joined Pet Sitters International in 2002 and became insured and bonded, bringing more than fifteen years of hands-on experience with many kinds of pets to the business. New clients are offered a free, no-obligation meet-and-greet at their home so that care instructions can be discussed and the sitter arrangement confirmed before service begins.

Critter Visits of Franklin holds a 5.00 rating from its customer reviews, reflecting the kind of long-term trust that comes from repeat clients who have relied on the business for years of in-home pet care across the Franklin area.
