Prior to relocating to Massachusetts, she served as District Manager for Baldwin Piano Company and sat on the accompanying faculty at the University of Akron in Ohio. At Baldwin she oversaw and taught group piano classes for employees of the three Ford Motor Companies in Cleveland, Ohio, through an educational program offering college degrees to Ford staff; those keyboard classes became the most popular and highest enrolled classes offered by the Ford Motor Company. She later became District Manager for Debut Music Systems, the education division of Baldwin Piano Company, traveling throughout the eastern United States as a spokesperson for hands-on music education in schools through group piano classes, installing keyboard labs, and training teachers in group piano teaching. After moving to Massachusetts, Abby established an acclaimed piano studio in Longmeadow, where she currently teaches students ranging from age 5 to 75. Many of her students have gone on to study music at Juilliard, Curtis, and other prestigious schools, and she also teaches students remotely in various other parts of the US. She has performed extensively as a collaborative pianist in recitals throughout the country. Peter Thomsen is also associated with the school.

The school is located on Frank Smith Road, about a third of a mile from Glenbrook Middle School, roughly half a mile from Twin Hills Country Club, and within about eight-tenths of a mile of Wolf Swamp Park and Conservation Area and Turner Park.
