Ondrick Natural Earth is the landscape and hardscape division of a family construction and materials operation that began in 1937, when Ted Ondrick started the firm with a single tractor for creating gardens and a horse and scoop loader for digging foundations. His motto held that each client was a neighbor and should be treated with honesty and integrity. Tadj Ondrick Jr. joined his father in 1963, and the company took on utility work, sewer systems, and larger infrastructure projects. It later expanded into construction materials from its sand and gravel pits and its granite quarry.

In 1973 the company had the first drum mix asphalt plant in Massachusetts, and in 1976 it began using recycled asphalt, allowing asphalt, concrete, and soil materials to be recycled rather than landfilled. In 1979, Tadj Ondrick Jr. designed and built a crushing plant to handle reinforced concrete, producing a blend of concrete, asphalt, and gravel called Hard-Pac, which became a Mass DEP approved model for concrete disposal and recycling. The company has handled rock crushing at Gillette Stadium and runways at Westover. Its main office and scale house are on Industry Road in Chicopee, with the scale house opening at 6:00 AM on weekdays.

With a 4.70 rating and a history that reaches back to 1937, Ondrick Natural Earth brings decades of materials and recycling experience to the landscaping and hardscape supplies it offers in Chicopee.
