Colman Electric was founded in the fall of 1976 when Kevin Colman set up a small electrician office in Beacon Hill at 46 Charles Street in Boston. His first job was a lighting repair at the home of Ms. Anna Snow of Boston. The business grew over the years with a loyal following of customers seeking quality electrical work at their homes and offices. Kevin Colman's daughter, Nancy, eventually joined to greet customers and run the front office while the field crew went out on calls. As the business took on more projects and more employees, it outgrew the Beacon Hill site and moved to 351 Cambridge Street, on the border of Cambridge and Boston's West End near Lechmere Station. Nancy and her husband John have welcomed visitors to the Colman Electric repair shop over the years. The current crew includes a master technician, several electrical technicians, and apprentices, with the team carrying over 100 years of combined experience in the electrical industry.

Colman Electric is located at 351 Cambridge St #1r in Boston. Office hours run Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 4:30PM, and the business can be reached at (617) 876-4000.

Long-standing Boston customers describe working with Colman Electric across multiple generations of electricians, with one reviewer recounting 33 years of service including knob and tube remediation in an 1859 home.
