Boston Barbell

Boston Barbell is a Gym in Billerica, MA, located at 28B Nashua Rd. It provides powerlifting and strength coaching to clients in Billerica, North Billerica, and the Greater Boston area, as well as online. The facility operates on a model where no one trains without a coach and a plan built from a movement assessment. Services include one-on-one coaching, small group classes, and a Barbell Club for independent lifters. The business holds a rating of 5.00 based on customer reviews.

The gym organizes training around individual movement assessments to build custom programs for each member’s joints, ranges of motion, and goals. One-on-one coaching provides full attention for those chasing specific goals, such as a lift, a meet, or a return from injury. Group classes offer real-time coaching with live eyes on every set and rep, adjusting loads and movements in real time. The Barbell Club provides structured programs written by a coach for members who train on their own during open hours, with regular check-ins to keep the plan on track. Boston Barbell started from a frustration with the industry treating real coaching as an add-on. The founder, Chris Martin, opened the facility to build a gym organized entirely around coaching for strength and aesthetics.

Staffed coaching hours run from 5am to 9pm Monday through Thursday and 5am to 5pm Friday and Saturday, with the facility closed on Sundays. Member access to the facility is available 24/7, including for Barbell Club members. The first step to training is an application and a free movement assessment to find the right fit.

Customers who have reviewed the business have given it a positive rating. The gym is known for its specific approach to coaching, naming the muscles and joints involved in movements and providing reasons behind cues.

Boston Barbell brings a coaching-first approach to strength training in Billerica, ensuring every member has a custom program and a coach responsible for their progress.
