Open Door Immigration Services

Open Door Immigration Services is an immigration lawyer and nonprofit organization in Beverly, Massachusetts. The 501(c)(3) charitable organization provides affordable immigration legal services and representation. Its services include citizenship and naturalization assistance, including N-400 filing and preparation for the citizenship test and interview; petitions to bring immediate relatives, with I-130 forms and supporting documentation; consular processing; green cards for legal residency; adjustment of residency status; green card renewals and replacements; employment authorization applications and renewals; removal of conditions of residency; travel documents and parole paperwork; and U Visa petitions for nonimmigrant victims of crime and their families. The organization also represents clients at USCIS interviews and offers Know Your Rights trainings for individuals, families, and community groups, including Red Cards and Family Preparedness packets in multiple languages. It does not assist with cases of detention or removal proceedings in Immigration Court. The organization holds a rating of 5.00 based on three reviews.

Open Door Immigration Services was established in 2015 by a community of immigrants at Anchor Bay Church, formerly Highrock North Shore Church, in Beverly, who had themselves experienced the process of achieving legal status. It received accreditation from the Department of Justice to offer immigration legal services in 2017 and has served hundreds of immigrants over the past seven years. Its mission is to love and serve immigrant neighbors by providing affordable and no-cost immigration legal services, and it never turns away a client based on ability to pay. The organization has expanded its hours and service area, works through a strong system of referrals for more specific legal services and wrap-around community services, and builds partnerships with faith communities, businesses, community leaders, and educational institutions. It also advocates for laws and government actions that support immigrant neighbors, including paths to legal status, safety in communities, and opportunities for full community engagement. Jenna Obelsky and Patricia Dae Harrop serve as accredited representatives.

The office sits on Dane Street in Beverly, steps from Beverly Public Library and the Paul M. Scott Library, and about a tenth of a mile from Cabot Street, the Cabot Theatre, and Beverly Grammar School.
