Garage 42

Garage 42 is a storage facility in Acton, Massachusetts, serving collectors and enthusiasts of collector, exotic, and vintage vehicles. The facility offers climate-controlled storage, on-site detailing, vehicle transport, managed services, and on-site mechanical work, including seasonal wheel and tire changes using a high-end tire machine and a designated wheel storage area. It holds a rating of 4.60 from customer reviews.

Garage 42 was founded in 2019 and moved from Woburn to its current Acton location in 2023, into a facility designed and built from scratch to meet its operation requirements. The Acton facility can store 200 cars, and the company describes itself as the largest car storage facility in the Boston area, supported by a small, knowledgeable staff. Its focus is collectable car storage, easing the space and time constraints that keep customers from pursuing their passion, and it serves customers from Boston, the suburbs, and other states.

Every vehicle in its care is kept clean, secure, charged, climate-controlled, and visually monitored. Detailing takes place in wet and dry detail bays staffed by an in-house detailer, and transport is handled by an on-staff driver with high-dollar vehicle transport experience using the company's own enclosed truck. Management services cover necessary services and repairs through a network of specialist shops. The team includes Director of Operations Josh Dumond, Head Detailer Ryan Doherty, who ran his own detailing operation for seven years and joined Garage 42 over three years ago, and Operations Specialist Derek Wynters. Garage 42 also hosts community events for car enthusiasts in the Greater Boston area, drawing on relationships with other New England automotive institutions.

The facility sits on River St, about 0.1 miles from Fort Pond Brook and Pratts Brook, 0.3 miles from Pratts Brook Conservation Land, 0.5 miles from Arborwood Conservation Land and Barkers Pond, and 0.7 miles from the Acton Recreation Department.

Garage 42 holds a positive rating from the customers who have reviewed it, reflecting the trust it has built among collectors who rely on it to keep their vehicles ready to drive.
