This family-owned practice began in 1989, when Marie began earning her Masters of Audiology at LSU Medical Center and her husband became a Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist. Their disciplines complement one another, and over 35 years the practice has grown to serve patients across Louisiana and Mississippi. The team offers tinnitus evaluation and management, hearing aid fitting and dispensing, and hearing aid repairs. They provide free hearing tests and auditory processing evaluations, and most in-office repairs are done at no charge. The practice services most major hearing aid manufacturers and can assess on-site whether a given brand can be repaired. When devices are not purchased there, the staff will still attempt repairs.

The practice follows a defined process. A free diagnostic evaluation uses low and high frequency tones along with word repetition to determine the percentage of hearing loss and the patient's ability to understand speech. Specialists then match patients with devices based on personal history and expectations. During fitting, hearing aids are programmed to a prescription, and the team explains how to insert, remove, and clean the devices, how to change batteries, and what to expect from the new sounds. Family members are encouraged to attend fittings as a support. The practice offers a written no-risk guarantee that allows patients to return hearing aids within three months for a full 100% refund, a 90-day unconditional guarantee on devices, and a warranty process through the manufacturer for repairs that cannot be handled in office. Additional resources include a free hearing guide, an online hearing test, and a video library on hearing health.

Hearing Aid Specialists has earned a strong local reputation and a steady record of repeat and referred customers through decades of service to Mandeville and the Northshore.
