Westbank Florist has served the area for nearly 50 years. Susan Russell Martinez began her career as a grocery store florist, then studied floral design in school and, with the support of her husband Paul, purchased Westbank Florist. She grew the business from a one-room operation into one that has operated out of multiple properties. Her daughters, Emily and Katibeth, now run the shop and carry on their mother's work, with plans to expand its offerings of flowers and gifts.

The business holds a rating of 4.80 based on 325 reviews. A recent customer described sending birthday flowers from out of town that arrived in good shape and produced smiles in the photos sent back. Westbank Florist also works with Davis Mortuary Services in Gretna on sympathy and memorial arrangements, a partnership built around funeral flowers suited to memorial services.

For Westbank and New Orleans-area customers, that combination of nearly five decades of local floral work and a family carrying it forward keeps Westbank Florist rooted in the community it serves.
