Holy Family Medical was co-founded on August 15, 2000, by Dr. Antonio Barba, Jr., an obstetrician-gynecologist who had practiced for many years at the Via Christi St. Francis Campus, and Dr. Ronald Ferris, who had just completed his family medicine residency at the Via Christi Family Medicine Residency. Bishop Thomas Olmsted gave his blessing and support for the formation of the clinic, which opened on the Feast of the Assumption of Mary and later relocated to its Hillside office in 2011. Dr. Barba retired at the end of 2006, and Dr. Ferris continues as part of the provider team, which also includes Carolyn Bland, PA, Cheriana Robinson, APRN, Amanda Walden, NP, Sophia Zinkovsky, MD, Samantha Smith, Alia Porter, Julia Brown, LMSW, and Malerie, MD.
