Westminster Preschool

Westminster Preschool is a preschool in Munster, IN, operating from Westminster Presbyterian Church on Columbia Avenue. The preschool is led by Tricia Shelton, who serves as Preschool Director and Director of Children Ministry, with contact handled through [email protected]. As part of the church's broader children and youth ministry, the preschool shares a campus and staff structure with the church's programs for young families in the Munster area.

The preschool operates within Westminster Presbyterian Church, a congregation whose mission is to serve as a welcoming church for all, inspired by God's love to serve the community and grow as followers of Jesus. The church describes itself as a community of Christ-followers who care for one another and the community and world around them, and it invites anyone, whether a seasoned Christian or someone just exploring faith, to attend a worship service. The church identifies as a Matthew 25 church, working to actively engage in the world and serve those who are marginalized or in need, including the hungry, thirsty, sick, strangers, and poor. The congregation also maintains a commitment to environmental stewardship, working to reduce unnecessary consumption, reuse and repurpose items, educate children and adults about the environment, and partner with organizations that protect it. The preschool is one part of this wider ministry, situated alongside programs for children, youth, music, and missions.

The preschool sits at 8955 Columbia Avenue, within roughly a fifth of a mile of Community Hospital and about a third of a mile from Calumet Avenue and Munster High School. Community Park and the Munster Branch Library are both under half a mile away, and Wilbur Wright Middle School is about half a mile from the campus.

Beyond the preschool's integration with the church's ministry and its location in Munster, no additional measured strengths or recognitions are available.
