AAYS Event Rentals

AAYS Event Rentals is a party rental company in Mishawaka, IN, serving weddings, corporate events, trade shows, and outdoor celebrations across the Michiana region. The company rents tents, tables, chairs, china, glassware, flatware, staging, and climate control equipment, and its team manages logistics both onsite and offsite. With a rating of 4.70, AAYS draws on more than six decades of experience supplying events from intimate backyard ceremonies to tented receptions accommodating several hundred guests, including events on the shores of Lake Michigan.

The company's roots trace back to the 1950s, when owner Burt Liss ran a Hertz Truck Rental in South Bend and became the first in the nation to rent general items such as hand tools and chairs alongside his trucks. In 1966, J.W. Sharpe bought the general rental side and opened AAYS, with his first rental to the University of Notre Dame being wooden folding chairs in 1967. He and his wife Terri steadily expanded the inventory to include tables, dishes, electronics, highchairs, walkers, and hospital beds. In the 1980s, as their three sons joined the business full-time, the operation split into two divisions: party and banquet rentals, and tool rentals. The current leadership includes President Mike Sharpe, Marketing and Social Media Manager Nancy Sharpe, General Manager Scott Nate, Office Manager Jodi Clarke, and Event Design Coordinator Ashley Sharpe, supported by a customer service, accounting, dispatch, and warehouse crew.

AAYS Event Rentals sits on West Edison Road, about six tenths of a mile from Booth Tarkington Park. Its location on Edison Road places it within easy reach of Mishawaka and the broader South Bend area, where it has operated as a family-run rental provider since the 1960s.

The company's longevity, rooted in a family business that has served the Michiana region since the 1960s, combined with its broad inventory of tents, tables, and event furnishings, makes it a longstanding resource for events of nearly every scale in and around Mishawaka.
