Arthur Murray Dance Studio Merrillville

Arthur Murray Dance Studio Merrillville is a dance studio in Merrillville, Indiana. It specializes in teaching beginner dancers everything they need to know to survive on the dance floor, using an interrelated system that makes learning to dance to any style of music fun, quick, and easy. The studio's first lesson is designed to be comfortable, fun, and informative: after answering a few questions about their goals, interests, and the style of dancing they would like to explore, students are guided through a few basic steps by a highly trained instructor. Students start learning to dance during that very first lesson and leave with a clear plan for their next sessions, working toward their personal goals through a proven teaching method.

The studio is part of Arthur Murray Dance Studios, which has been helping people gain confidence through dance for over 100 years. The organization traces its start to Arthur Murray, born Moses Teichman in 1895, whose passion for dance began on the streets of New York City. By 1912 he was teaching at the Grand Palace ballroom, and in 1920 he launched the world's first radio dance, transmitting live music so couples could learn from home. He opened his first formal dance studio in Manhattan in 1925, the foundation of what became one of America's oldest and most enduring franchise organizations. The studios offer a personalized way to learn ballroom, Latin, swing, and more, for complete beginners and for those returning to the floor after a break.
