Harper Lake Campground

Harper Lake Campground is a campground in Kimmell, Indiana, situated on South 900 West. The family-owned park has been in operation for more than five decades, since 1972, and is currently run by Jim and Stephanie Miller and their family. It sits on a chain of ten lakes and serves as the headwaters of Lake Wawasee, Indiana's largest inland lake, with more than half a mile of lakefront on a connected chain of five lakes reachable by pontoon boat, and additional waters accessible by jon boat or canoe.

The campground covers roughly thirty acres and offers more than 120 sites for seasonal, weekly, daily, group, and club camping. Sites are available in waterfront, wooded, and open settings, accommodating both tents and RVs. Amenities include a camp store, live bait and tackle, firewood, an LP gas fill station, modern restrooms and showers, two dump stations, a honey wagon service, picnic tables, and fire rings at each site. Recreational features include a sandy swimming beach, a boat launch, pontoon and other boat rentals, a fish cleaning station, a party and game room, a playground, and a nature trail through the woods. The operators hold a fishing and hunting license and maintain the property as a base for activities aimed at families while still preserving a quiet atmosphere for those seeking relaxation. Horseshoes and other games round out the offerings.

The property sits on South 900 West and lies a short walk from Harper Lake Campsite, Little Knapp Lake, and Harper Lake itself, with the Tippecanoe River roughly 1.7 miles away and Pioneer Trails Camp about two miles down the road.

As a family-run park on a connected chain of northern Indiana lakes, Harper Lake Campground offers Kimmell-area visitors both a launching point onto Lake Wawasee and a long-established place to camp along the water.
