RussCo, Inc. is a family-owned and managed contracting company founded in 1952 by Russell Pichette after his service in the U.S. Air Force in WWII and Korea. The firm initially focused on maintaining existing and erecting new drive-in movie theaters for clients including EM Lowes, Redstone, Interstate Theaters, Hoyts Theaters, General Cinemas, and Patriot Cinemas. Russ Pichette joined the company in 1977, and in 1979, Russco & Company entered the retail construction market with the addition of Anderson Little stores. The company name was updated to Russco Inc. in 1983, shifting focus to splitting large, single movie houses into multi-flex theaters and starting construction work in mills across Southern New England. Russco opened its first office on Purchase Street in Fall River, MA, in 1988. After Russell Pichette retired in 1992, Russ and Matt Pichette took ownership.
