Drive Right Academy Inc

Drive Right Academy Inc is a driving school in Auburn, IN. The school provides the Indiana Driver Education program to students in DeKalb, Noble, Steuben, and LaGrange Counties, delivering both the 30 hours of classroom instruction and the 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training required to complete the course. Students must be 15 years old to enroll, and the program is open to teens from any school. Drive Right Academy is also authorized to administer the BMV Driving Skills Exam to students and non-students who have finished both parts of the course.

The school was established in November 2009 by high school educators who wanted to fill a gap when local high schools began dropping drivers education from their curricula. That founding mission has grown into more than a decade of student driver instruction across Northeast Indiana. The driving instructors bring well over 100 years of combined classroom and driver education experience, with backgrounds as teachers of young people. Every instructor has undergone a criminal background check and has been credentialed by the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles. The classroom portion is delivered through an online format available any time, with no deposit required and no charge if a student decides not to continue after trying it. Behind-the-wheel times are scheduled seven days a week between parents and instructors, with 180 days given to finish both portions of the program and additional time accommodated at no extra charge.

The school sits on West Seventh Street, less than a quarter mile from the main road, about half a mile from the YMCA, and roughly six tenths of a mile from Memorial Park. Forrest Park is about seven tenths of a mile away, McKenney Harrison Elementary School is within eight tenths of a mile, and the Auburn Post Office is about a mile from the location.

The school's office is open Monday through Saturday by appointment, and the mailing address is PO Box 670, Auburn, IN 46706.
