Horcher's Service

Horcher's Service is a towing service and auto and truck repair shop in Wheeling, Illinois. The shop works on all makes and models of cars and trucks, and provides towing alongside its repair work. Dan Horcher opened the business on September 1, 1958, as a two-bay Sinclair gas station at the corner of Dundee Road and Milwaukee Avenue in Wheeling. In 1967 it moved to its present location, about half a mile north of the original spot. The shop has four bays for car repair and three for truck repair, staffed by four technicians and one service manager. The technicians are certified and together bring more than 100 years of auto repair experience. The business describes itself as an old-school, family-run shop and was named Top Shop by the Automotive Training Institute. Its services are backed by warranty.

Fleet work makes up a large share of the clientele, and the shop handles fleets of twenty, fifty, or a hundred vehicles, aiming to return them to service as quickly as possible. It also serves commercial clients who depend on their vehicles for their livelihoods.
