Owner Meg Ryan grew up in Addison in a large family with many pets. She attended Driscoll Catholic High School and earned a business degree from Elmhurst College. She began riding horses at age 9. At 16, she became a working student at North Wayne Stables in Wayne, IL, where she learned horse and farm care. She later taught riding lessons at Deer Grove Horse Center in Palatine. Within a year, she was managing the farm, caring for 40 horses and teaching lessons daily. The barn closed when the owner sold the property for development. Ryan then worked at Hewitt Associates in Lincolnshire for 22 years.

She moved to Volo in 2006. Her pet sitting career began when she cared for her neighbor’s dog, Aspen, during long weekends or vacations. This experience sparked her love for pet sitting and dog walking. Over the years, her list of cared-for animals expanded to include more dogs and cats. Ryan adopted Ninja, a five-year-old black cat known for being sneaky and able to open drawers and cabinets. She also fosters kittens and cats. She is currently fostering two kittens named Nugget and Needle.
