Dohrn Warehouse

Dohrn Warehouse is a storage facility in Rock Island, IL. Located on 9th Street, the facility sits about a tenth of a mile from the Centennial Expressway and roughly four-tenths of a mile from Martin Luther King Memorial Park and the Martin Luther King Community Center. The facility shares the surrounding area with Denkman Park, about half a mile away.

The company's origins trace back to Charles Dohrn, who started Dohrn Transfer Company in 1921 in Rock Island with a single wood-slatted truck and one route, founding the business on values of employee investment and customer service that still guide operations today. Charles's grandson Gary Dohrn learned the business from a young age. When the company was sold in 1981, Gary opened a public warehouse, and over time expanded into less-than-truckload services, growing the operation to more than 500 power units and 1,200 employees across nine states with 23 terminals. Gary's son Joe Dohrn later spun off Logiflow, a logistics company, from the business in 2016, which continues to operate under the Pitt Ohio Transportation Group umbrella. Dohrn joined Pitt Ohio Transportation Group in 2014.

The company's stated values center on safety, service excellence, customer experience, personal touch, and continuous improvement. Dohrn has received industry recognition including the 2023 Mastio Quality Award from MASTIO's U.S. LTL Carrier Customer Value & Loyalty Report, the 2023 Quest for Quality Award, a spot on FourKites' Q3 2021 Premier Carrier List, and Transplace's Regional LTL Carrier of the Year for 2020.

Dohrn Warehouse holds a rating of 4.10. As a storage facility rooted in a company with more than a century of history in Rock Island, Dohrn carries forward the same family-founded principles that have defined the business since 1921.
