Established in 1998, Alpha Dog Training Center sits on a 10-acre dog-friendly estate in Quincy. The facility is a 5,700 square foot, climate-controlled building used for boarding, training, and doggie daycare. Owner Elizabeth Boyer graduated from the Tom Rose School for professional dog trainers in 1998 at the age of 18, returned to Quincy, and established the center. She is certified to train dogs in protection and obedience. The Good Dog Program is a drop-off program in which a dog lives with the owner's family while mastering basic exercises, while the Better Dog Program adds off-lead mastery, advanced obedience, and a trained retrieve. Seminar Weekend condenses basic obedience into an intensive two-day period and requires pre-registration. Weekly Workshops are open to dogs that have completed three to four private lessons, Seminar Weekend, or drop-off training. Private Lessons pair a dog and owner with a professional trainer. The first day of daycare is complimentary, and a free New Client Meet and Greet is offered weekly by appointment.

The center is located at 2630 Spring Lake Road, about 0.6 miles from North 24th Street and roughly a mile from Blickhan Landing Area. It is about 1.3 miles from 12th Street, 1.7 miles from the Ag Museum, 2 miles from Maranatha Park, and 2.1 miles from Spring Lake.
