Oak Forest Dental Wellness

Oak Forest Dental Wellness is a dentist office in Oak Forest, IL. The practice is led by Dr. Jonelle Doctor Urgena and offers preventative and general dentistry, including routine check-ups, professional cleanings, oral cancer screenings, and radiographs, as well as referrals for periodontal care and dental implants through Dr. Shawn Thomas, the office's periodontist. The dental team also includes hygienists Jamie and Kaitlin, both graduates of the Prairie State College dental hygiene program, and a dental assistant, all trained in local anesthesia, periodontal therapy, x-rays, and CPR, with continuing education taken yearly. Patients can reach the office at (708) 535-0050.

Dr. Urgena took over the practice from Dr. O'Donnell after working for several years at her father's clinic, where she had also assisted as a teenager. A dental mission trip to the Philippines in her teens, where she and her family treated hundreds of children with decayed teeth, shaped her commitment to oral health education and care for underserved patients. The office is designed to feel like home, and new patients are invited to take a virtual tour and fill out paperwork online before their first visit. The clinic sits on South Cicero Avenue, less than half a mile from 147th Street and about a mile on foot from Vergne Way Park, with the Midlothian Public Library roughly half a mile south along the same corridor.

The practice holds a rating of 4.80. As a locally owned office serving families in Oak Forest and the surrounding south suburbs, Oak Forest Dental Wellness carries forward a family tradition of dentistry rooted in the same Chicago-area community where its founder first fell in love with the profession.
