Born and raised in Bloomington, Illinois, he was accepted into the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana veterinary program after his junior year of undergraduate study and graduated from the University of Illinois School of Veterinary Medicine with honors in 1992. He spent eight years as an associate and an owner at the Town and Country Animal Hospital before starting Prairie Oak Veterinary Center on March 11, 2000. Dr. Fraker serves on the board of directors for the ParkLands Foundation, helping locate and acquire new properties, and on the American Birding Association, where he chairs the Recording Standards and Ethics Committee and sits on the Development Committee. He has also served as Entertainment Chairperson for the Bloomington Country Club. His interests include conservation, birdwatching, Wyoming, and native restorations on his farm north of Carlock.

Dr. Christine (Tysiak) Davis attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for both her undergraduate degree and veterinary school, graduating in 2004, and began working at Prairie Oak Veterinary Center that same year. Outside of work she enjoys arts and crafts, crocheting, hunting, fishing, and time with her family.
