Leadership transitioned to the next generation as Gene’s son John Burke, a 1969 Aquin High School graduate, joined in 1974 after graduating from the University of Minnesota Program of Mortuary Science. Robert Burke, a 1974 Freeport High School graduate, joined in 1979 after graduating from Worsham College of Mortuary Science. Today, the third generation includes Andy, a 1999 Aquin High School graduate who joined full time in 2007; Brian, a 2001 Freeport High School and 2010 SIU Carbondale Mortuary Science graduate who worked on and off since 1997; and Aaron, a 2009 Freeport High School and 2014 SIU Edwardsville Business graduate who joined following his graduation from Worsham College of Mortuary Science.
