The source material provided describes Bodine, a manufacturer of emergency lighting components, rather than a local electrical service provider in Decatur. Bodine, founded as The Bodine Company in 1962 by Richard and Virginia Bodine, originally operated from a chicken coop before moving to a property in Collierville, Tennessee in 1967. The company specializes in life safety applications, offering products such as LED emergency drivers, retrofit kits, inverters, and fluorescent emergency ballasts. Their FirstLink connected emergency lighting system is a code-compliant egress lighting solution that includes enabled exit signs, unit equipment, and emergency LED drivers, managed through a dedicated application and customer portal. The system utilizes a wireless mesh network to connect emergency lights and gateways, allowing for automatic retrieval of test results and the generation of compliance reports. Bodine’s LED emergency drivers bypass the AC driver to operate LED arrays directly during emergencies, supporting applications ranging from indoor and outdoor egress to damp and cold temperature environments. Emergency lighting retrofit kits are designed to convert existing LED, fluorescent, or TLED luminaires into code-compliant emergency sources while maintaining the building’s design aesthetic. Inverters supply AC mains power during outages and are suitable for retail, commercial, hospitality, school, and healthcare settings, offering the advantage of long-distance remote installation. Exit signs and combo emergency lighting units are used to mark the path of egress and provide illumination to guide occupants to safety. Products are sold through a nationwide network of manufacturers' representatives and electrical distributors for field installation, or directly to lighting fixture manufacturers for factory installation.

Bodine Electric of Decatur serves the local electrical needs of Decatur, IL, with a focus on emergency lighting solutions and code-compliant egress systems.
