The store has been a family-owned and operated business in Belleville since 1927, founded by John "Honest John" Mueller, who was known during the Depression era for telling struggling customers "don't worry, pay me what you can." After John died in 1952, his sons Roland and Les ran the business, and after Roland's passing in 1960, Les and his wife Peggy continued until Les retired in 1976. His youngest son, Lynwood Mueller, the current owner, then took over. The store offers a one-on-one shopping experience with an attentive sales team and accepts Bitcoin as a payment method alongside traditional financing. Featured collections include Henry and Linden by Flexsteel, the Monterey Collection from Oakwood Industries, the Xavier Collection, the Coby Collection, and the Build Your Own 9000 Series.

The store sits on East Main Street in Belleville, about a third of a mile from Forest Avenue and East End Park. Douglas Elementary School is roughly four-tenths of a mile away, and the St. Clair County Historical Society sits about the same distance to the west.

With a 4.70 rating from its customers, Mueller Furniture of Belleville draws on nearly a century of family ownership and a multi-generational approach to personal service. That history, kept in the family since 1927, remains a defining part of how the Belleville store operates today.
