The school describes its program as an eight-class, eight-drive defensive driving course built to prepare students for driving in the real world, and it states that it completes the six-hour in-car observation requirement in a driver's ed car rather than skipping it. Lessons run 45 minutes, and the school schedules eight of them, adjusting lesson length up or down depending on a student's ability and skill level. Students can choose automatic or stick shift instruction, and the school accommodates hectic schedules by allowing make-up classes when a student misses one for a sporting event, concert, or family activity. Insurance license classes are also offered.

Robert Fenn owns the school and is a certified skills tester for the State of Idaho. He holds degrees in Management and Accounting from Boise State University and Santa Monica College, earned his Certified Insurance Counselor designation, and has been active in the insurance industry since 1991. He purchased Silver Key School in 2006 and began teaching insurance classes across Idaho, then started Idaho Driving School. Nicole Fenn is a certified teacher who earned her degree in Education at Boise State University, worked as a Sales and Service Representative for Aetna Life and Casualty, trained new employees, and has worked in the Boise and Meridian school districts and in many facets of the education system since 1996.

The school is located on W Emerald St in Meridian.

Its 4.80 rating reflects the experience of the families who have reviewed it, and the school's combination of classroom instruction, behind-the-wheel lessons, and state-certified skills testing keeps it a familiar name for new drivers in Meridian.
