Lōkahi Dance

Lōkahi Dance is a Dance Studio in Coeur d'Alene, ID, located at 1121 Sherman Ave. The studio provides non-competitive dance classes for students ages 1 and up, offering a positive and supportive environment where children can grow and move in harmony. Owner and dance teacher Bria Zan Thompson founded Lōkahi Dance after discovering a need for a non-competitive studio and a positive outlet for children in her community. Bria began studying and performing Hula at age five in Haiku, Maui, and later studied Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Modern dance, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance from the University of Colorado. She is certified in Module 1 Acrobatic Arts, DiscoverDance Early Childhood Development, and Pediatric First Aid CPR. Before opening the studio in the fall of 2017, Bria started as a traveling dance company in 2014 and taught classes for Hutton Settlement Children's Home, local preschools and elementary schools, and the CDA Recreation Department.

Dance teacher GraceAnn Gaherty is an Idaho native who began dancing at age three, studying Ballet, Tap, Modern, and Jazz. She currently teaches Creative Ballet, Ballet, and the DiscoverDance program at Lōkahi Dance while attending NIC for elementary education. Dance teacher Malia Smith previously danced and performed Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Irish with Momentum Dance Ensemble in Seattle for ten years.
