Yost Wellness Center of Urbandale

Yost Wellness Center of Urbandale is a weight loss clinic in Urbandale, Iowa, at 3993 100th St. The center practices functional medicine, treating the root cause of symptoms rather than medicating them, and specializes in hypothyroidism, adrenal fatigue, digestive disorders, depression and anxiety, and hormone imbalances through Dr. Yost's proprietary 5 Point Treatment Program. It also helps patients with diabetes, prediabetes, leaky gut, autoimmune disease, and weight concerns. Heather Yost, D.C., C.F.M.P., is the author, educator, and founder who leads the practice. The clinic holds a rating of 4.90.

Founded in 2004, the center has helped thousands of patients regain their health and vitality. Its approach uses natural vitamins, minerals, herbs, and specific dietary changes to restore the body to optimal levels, strengthen the immune system, and increase energy. The team of physicians and health professionals works to create an environment of hope and well-being, and the center describes listening to patients as a defining difference from the treat-by-number approach common among medical professionals. Appointments begin with a free 30-minute consultation, and clinic hours run Monday through Thursday, 9:30am to 5:30pm. The center also offers workshops, health evaluations, supplements, webinars, recipes, and a blog, and it serves patients from Altoona, Ames, Ankeny, Boone, Clive, Des Moines, Grinnell, Indianola, Johnston, Marshalltown, Newton, Pella, Urbandale, and West Des Moines.

The clinic sits on 100th Street, about a tenth of a mile from Family Medicine of Urbandale and roughly two-tenths of a mile from Laura A. Ward Park. Douglas Avenue runs about three-tenths of a mile away, with Northwest Urbandale Drive and Golfview West Park each a short distance beyond.

That 4.90 rating reflects how the center's patients regard the care they receive, and its two decades of functional medicine practice in Urbandale have made it a familiar name for Iowa patients seeking a natural, root-cause route to better health.
