Iowa Diamond of Johnston

Iowa Diamond of Johnston is a jewelry store in Johnston, IA, with a 4.80 rating from customer reviews. The store carries Iowa's largest selection of engagement rings, wedding bands, diamond jewelry, and pieces for special occasions and anniversaries. Customers are served by staff who hold credentials as a Graduate Gemologist through the Gemological Institute of America and Certified Diamondologists through the Diamond Council of America.

The store operates out of its showroom on Westown Parkway, where hundreds of loose diamonds are sorted by hand to find the small number considered worthy of the Iowa Diamond name. The buying process is built to mirror the way professional diamond buyers purchase stones, under the same grading conditions and with the same advantages, and customers are walked through what the store calls the Cardinal Rules of Professional Diamond Buying. The business is led by President Chuck Kuba, and the family behind it counts five generations of work in the jewelry industry, spanning manufacturing, gemstone cutting, retail, and teaching at a prestigious institute and university lecturing. The store's stated history covers more than three-quarters of a century across those roles. The showroom also carries designs by Mark Schneider of Long Beach, California, the only living ring designer with a piece permanently displayed at the Smithsonian, whose collection is exclusive to Iowa Diamond patrons.

Behind the counter, Iowa Diamond is staffed by fifth-generation jewelers who bring more than seventy-five years of family experience in manufacturing, gemstone cutting, retail, and education, and who teach customers the Cardinal Rules of Professional Diamond Buying before any sale is made. The showroom at 4601 Westown Parkway holds more engagement ring styles on any given day than all the stores in a major mall combined, with many of those styles exclusive to Iowa Diamond.
