Canine Coach Hawaii

Canine Coach Hawaii is a dog training business in Kailua, HI. They serve dog owners across Oahu with programs for all breeds and sizes, focusing on improving obedience and behavior. Services include private lessons, group classes, puppy training, and advanced obedience. They also offer Stay and Train Camps, known as Board and Train programs, which feature 24/7 structured training sessions, recreational play, and signature field trips to proof skills in real-world scenarios. The business holds a 5.00 rating based on customer reviews.

The training approach relies on a motivation-based balanced system that progresses from food reward and marker training to leash direction and, when necessary, e-collar training to establish off-leash trust and reliability. This method is designed to provide clear communication regardless of distractions. The Board and Train program typically spans fourteen days, beginning with marker training, moving to on-leash proofing, and transitioning to e-collar communication. Dogs in this program are trained from 8 am to 10 pm and live in crates inside the trainers' home. The business limits the number of dogs at any time to provide individual attention. They also offer go-home transfer lessons to help owners maintain their dog’s training.

The team includes Eric, founder of Hawaii Working K9s and president of Hawaii’s first and only French Ring & Protection Sport Club, and Miles, who began working in dog training at age 15. Eric competed in dog sports, winning the 2011 Aloha State Fair Dock Diving Competition, and has coached dogs to national championships. Miles currently works with scent detection canines for USDA and government contracts. Both founders emphasize coaching the owners alongside the dogs to ensure long-term success. They have over 30 years of combined experience and work with sport dogs, pet dogs, service dogs, and rescue animals.

Canine Coach Hawaii combines deep expertise in canine behavior with practical, owner-focused training methods to help Kailua and Oahu dog owners achieve reliable obedience and a stronger bond with their pets.

Canine Coach Hawaii is located on Keolu Drive, just a tenth of a mile from Enchanted Lakes Elementary and Enchanted Lake Community Park, and about a quarter mile from Kaʻelepulu Pond.
