The craftsman behind Hickory Handyworks is a Roswell local who spent more than twenty years in the healthcare and software industries before turning a long-running woodworking hobby into a business. The focus is on Roswell and East Cobb, where he lives, and he approaches every project with the same care he would give his own home. He favors natural products and materials where possible, paired with traditional craftsmanship, to produce furniture for everyday homes. For painted kitchen cabinets and furniture, he uses Gallery Series Waterborne Topcoat, a waterborne coating designed for professional spray application that flows to a smooth finish, can be recoated in 35 to 45 minutes, and meets or exceeds Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association requirements. For non-painted pieces, his preferred finish is hard wax oil.

Hickory Handyworks is on Shoal Creek Drive, about two-tenths of a mile from Pine Grove Road. High Meadows School sits roughly nine-tenths of a mile away, and Lake Charles is about a mile from the shop.

With a perfect 5.00 rating, Hickory Handyworks has earned the kind of review record that reflects careful, collaborative work on every custom cabinet, built-in, and furniture commission it takes on in Roswell.
