Jerry Underwood started the lot in historic Kingsland in the early 2000s. Lamar Underwood, who had previously worked at Toyota and operated Expressway Auto Sales in Jacksonville and Lamar’s Cars in Yulee, Florida, joined his brother. Lamar brings more than forty years of experience in the automotive industry to the Kingsland location. Today, the business is operated by Lamar Underwood and partners Jacob Naugle and Jordan Naugle. Jacob and Jordan began their involvement as children washing cars for Lamar on the lot, learning the trade from him. They now work together, with Jordan managing the lot operations while Jacob and Lamar handle customer interactions and phone calls.

The team emphasizes a straightforward, honest approach to car buying, aiming to provide fair vehicles and excellent service. For vehicle maintenance, work is performed through their mechanics using parts from their suppliers. If something covered goes wrong, they split the repair with the customer. Customers have noted the knowledgeable and friendly assistance provided by Jacob and Lamar, highlighting the professional and pressure-free environment. The business is guided by a Christian faith, with the owners striving to live out their religious principles through their work and interactions with customers. They view their service to the community and their family income as interconnected with their ministry.
