Founded by Austin Harris, who holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry and a law degree from the University of Georgia, the company was created to address the unmet demand for chemistry tutors in Athens. Harris leads a team that includes codirectors of operations and heads of specific subject areas, such as Viktor, Kailee Conley, and Alysia Banks Torgerson. This structure ensures that students receive focused instruction from specialized tutors who are experts in their respective fields, rather than relying on generalist tutors. The team develops a wide range of study materials rooted in real college coursework, continually revising and updating them each semester to reflect changes in professors, textbooks, and teaching styles.

The program allows students to learn on their own timeline, with the freedom to revisit concepts until they feel confident and fully understand the material. This personalized approach helps build confidence and enhances retention, allowing students to progress at a pace that suits their individual learning style. The materials focus on the types of questions specific instructors ask, helping students comprehend how to apply their knowledge to specific question styles. With 15 years of experience, the tutors adapt their methods to best suit the student’s needs in their specific field of study, providing a deeper, more effective learning experience.

Science Guyz is recognized for a positive rating from the customers who have reviewed it, reflecting the satisfaction of students who have benefited from its specialized instruction and continually updated resources.
